Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what stays in your browser, and how to ask about your data.
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Timer Calculator ("we," "us," or "our") operates timercalculator.com. The site is run by Cedrick Reese, who is responsible for how information on this site is handled. This page explains what information is collected when you use the site, why, and the choices and rights you have.
The short version: the calculators, timers, stopwatch, and alarm clock run in your browser, and nothing you type into them is sent to us. The site counts visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that doesn't use cookies. It doesn't run advertising. If that changes, this page will be updated before it happens.
Information we collect
- Server logs: like nearly every website, our web host (Hostinger) records basic request data: the page requested, your IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Visit statistics: we use Umami to count visits, running on our own server at Hostinger rather than a third-party analytics company. Umami records the pages viewed, the referring site, your browser, operating system, device type, and country. It doesn't set cookies, and Umami says it doesn't collect personally identifiable information and anonymizes the data it records. We use these numbers only to see which tools people use and where the site needs work. Some tools put the times you enter in the page address after a # so you can bookmark or share them, and the tracker is set to leave out everything after a # or ? in the address, so nothing you type into the tools is included.
- Tool inputs: times, numbers, and text you enter into the tools are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.
- Saved tool settings: several tools save their state in your browser's local storage so a refresh or a return visit picks up where you left off. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. Here's what each one keeps:
- Online timer: the running or paused countdown, the hours, minutes and seconds you last entered, the optional label, and your sound, volume, repeat, keep-screen-awake and keyboard-shortcut settings.
- 1 minute timer: the current run, your rounds and rest choices, the halfway bell and tick settings, and your sound settings.
- 5 minute timer: the current run, the start and halfway bell settings, whether the sign view is on, the optional note you typed for the sign, and your sound settings.
- 10 minute timer: the current run, the optional "what's this block for" text, the 5 minute and 1 minute warning settings, your sound settings, and a list of the blocks you finished today (end time and that text, up to 50), which starts over the next day.
- Stopwatch: the current run, your laps and lap notes, and whether keyboard shortcuts are on.
- Alarm clock: your alarms (up to three, with their times, labels, on or off state and any snooze) and your sound, volume, keep-screen-awake, keyboard-shortcut, notification and 12 or 24 hour settings.
- Classroom timer: the running timer, the minutes, seconds and activity name you last entered, your activity list, and your disk color, time warning, sound and display settings.
- Interval timer: the workout in progress while it is running or paused, your work, rest, rounds, sets, set break and warm-up settings, the preset you picked, and your sound and display settings.
- Focus timer: the current session and time left, your session lengths, auto-start, sound, volume and notification settings, the optional task text, and a log of today's finished focus sessions (end time, length and task), with earlier days dropped.
- Speech timer: the calculator mode, pace, words a minute, word count and time limit you entered, plus the timer run, your green, yellow and red signal times, count direction, and tone, colors-only, keep-screen-awake and keyboard-shortcut settings. The speech text you paste is never saved.
- Contact form and email: if you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, subject, and message. The form sends these to our contact handler at readyutilities.com, which is run by the same owner.
- Cookies: the site does not currently set cookies. See the cookie policy.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, sensitive information such as account numbers or government ID numbers.
How we use information and our legal bases
- Server logs are used to operate the site, fix problems, and protect it against abuse. For visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Messages are used only to reply to you and to fix whatever you reported. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions, or taking steps you asked for.
- Visit statistics from Umami are used to understand which pages and tools people use and to improve the site. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the site, using a cookieless tool that doesn't identify you.
- Local storage for the timers, stopwatch, and alarm clock is used only to provide the feature you're using, and it never leaves your device.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not currently share it for advertising.
Advertising
The site does not show ads yet. We plan to show ads through Google AdSense. Before any ad code is added, a consent banner managed by Consently will be added, and this section and the cookie policy will be updated to name every ad network and cookie in use.
When ads run, the following will apply:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland will be asked for consent before any advertising cookies are set, and can change that choice at any time through the consent banner.
Third-party services
- Hostinger hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces. When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy.
- Ready Utilities contact handler (readyutilities.com) receives contact form messages and forwards them to us by email.
Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep information
Server logs are kept for the period our host retains them for security and troubleshooting, then deleted. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and resolve the issue. Timer, alarm, and log data stays in your browser until you delete it in the tool or clear site data for timercalculator.com.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
- have it corrected or deleted
- object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent where we rely on consent
- receive it in a portable format
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising (we don't do either today)
- not be treated differently for using any of these rights
Residents of the EU, EEA, and UK can also complain to their local data protection authority. California residents and residents of other US states with privacy laws have the rights their state law provides.
To make a request, email admin@readyutilities.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we'll respond within the time the law that applies to you requires. Because the tools keep your inputs in your own browser, in most cases the only personal information we hold is server log data and any messages you've sent.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and the tools don't send your inputs anywhere. No method of storing or transmitting data online is completely secure, but we keep what we collect to the minimum the site needs.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change, including before any advertising goes live or analytics changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest revision.
